Long Term Strategy Development Using Easy Language in TradeStation

Join our members and guests for the meeting kicks off with Jim Rakowski review how he uses TradeStation to automate his trading. Jim will cover several indicators and his method. His last presentation covered the development and profit potential of day trading and swing trading strategies programmed using Easy Language with emphasis on automation where the computer trades the market for you which is a practical necessity being that intraday bars are being used. This method can be quite profitable but at the same time intensive just because of the large number of trades that are taken.

This presentation will slow things down by using weekly bars which trade infrequently and where trades can be entered manually upon alerts shown on the chart. Positions taken are allowed to run longer but on the flip side, long periods of inactivity can occur when the market is in a selloff. Overall profit can be substantially improved in these “dead zones” by employing a shorter time interval using a reverse market strategy, taking advantage of the axiom that although the market takes the stairs up, it takes the elevator down. Comparison will also be made to the classic AIM system which can also be cast in terms of an easy language strategy.
