Mitigating Risk with ThinkOrSwim Bracket Orders 

“Cut your losses short but let your profits run” are words that make sense when you are aiming the gun but not so easy to live by once you’ve pulled the trigger. “Risk Management” is the art of determining how much ammo to load, just in case your aim ain’t so good. “Bracket Orders” are compound orders that implement risk management decisions while removing “finger on the trigger” indecision.

In the advanced topic presentation, John will discuss the sources of trading risk, risk management and setting up orders to mitigate risk across three basic time frames. The ThinkOrSwim platform will be used to demonstrate order entry. Order types such as bracket, stop-loss and trailing stop orders will be presented in conjunction with entry and exit strategies.
