SMT Online meetings are held once a month, usually on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM EST. They cover material that is different from the SMT monthly DC area meeting held on the first Thursday of the month in Rockville, Maryland. Online meetings are free and open to non-SMT members.
How To Participate in SMT On Line Meetings
Log in to LiveMinutes.com and set up a LiveMinutes account.
Once you have an account, send an email to OnLineMeetings@markettechnicians.org to let us know that you have set up your LiveMinutes account and you will be attending our online meetings, then join the group: “SMT Live” on the LiveMinutes site.
We will start all meetings on-time. You should set up your LiveMinutes account and become familiar with LiveMinutes, a few days before you attend your first On Line Meeting.
Once the meeting starts, only the LiveMeetings Host and guest speaker should be speaking. If you have questions, you can type them in to the IM window on the left hand side bar. Questions from attendees will be repeated by the presenter and then answered.
The meeting speaker will note which page of the presentation is being discussed. Each attendee has the ability to scroll through the presentation without impacting other attendees.
A video of the online meeting will be posted on the SMT web site within 48 hours for viewing by current SMT members.
Down The Road…
Once attendance has increased, or we have sufficient numbers of attendees on the West coast, we might add an additional online meeting at 10:30 EST (covering the same material) to better serve those who would rather attend a later meeting.
