Thursday, January 8th at 7:30 PM

The Ring House                                                                                                              1801 East Jefferson Street                                                  Rockville, MD  20852

 Main Presentation Speaker:

John T. Nelson

  Topic:

“Comparison Of Trade Management Strategies”

Join us for our January 2015 meeting when John T. Nelson, SMT member and Vice-President, will present a comparative look at trade management strategies. Many traders search for the “Holy Grail” of indicators, an indicator capable of predicting and perfecting the sequence of trading events under all market conditions. Instead, let’s manage our aggregate trades (and risk) by reacting to market fluctuations with cash, sizing and execution control. John will provide recent comparative results using custom back-testers on the AmiBroker platform.

Notes:
Annual officer elections took place as scheduled at the December meeting. The 2014 slate of officers; Dennis A. Kranyak (President); John T. Nelson (Vice-President); Ronald Spieker (Secretary/Treasurer), was re-elected by popular acclaim from meeting and email ballots. There was also a short presentation reviewing SMT progress over the past year.

If you have a short presentation, contact Dennis A. Kranyak at president@markettechnicians.org.

Your SMT Board of Trustees is looking for a member to volunteer to be our Librarian. Vas Madhava has done a fantastic job over the past few years as our librarian and enabled us to list all of our library holdings on our web site. Doing this has allowed us to greatly simplify the job of the SMT Librarian. Vas would like to step down, and we are looking for an interested member to assume these duties. If you are interested, contact anyone of your SMT Board members or officers to volunteer or get additional information.

SMT coffee mugs will be available for purchase at the meeting for $5 for members and 7.50 for non-members. Coffee mugs are also available from the SMT web site under the “Resources/SMT Gear” menu tab for $8.50 for members and $11.00 for non-members. Online purchase prices include shipping.
